Offered for QuoteSoft Pipe and QuoteSoft Duct, these classroom sessions will cover:
- Creating your bid opportunity as a job in the program with the project plans for performing takeoff
- Analyzing project specifications against program data and how to customize each
- Performing takeoff
- Producing material and labor reports in Excel (or PDF) format for review and bid submission
- Practical methods for implementing these programs to suit your operational business needs

Meet Your Trainers
Ron Davis – Product Training Specialist, QuoteSoft
Started apprenticeship training packing pipe in 1977, retired Navy CB’s, mechanical engineer & management degree, worked in the mechanical engineering office before returning to the field piping industry as estimator project manager for another 10 years. I hung up the tool belt and handed in the keys for good. QS original owners ask if I wanted to learn their program and teach others in the industry terminology and skill sets to be an estimator. Today you will find me working in my hot rod shop, work a trap line or spending time working with the homeless community.
Sam Kalstad – Product Training Specialist, QuoteSoft
Sam Kalstad is a Product Training Specialist for QuoteSoft since 2017. Sam has approx. 30 years’ experience in Eugene, Oregon and Bay Area of California as a commercial HVAC Sheet Metal estimator / project Manager. Prior to joining QuoteSoft, approximately 18 of those 30 years were specific to using QuoteSoft software as either an Estimator or as a Chief Estimator. He very much enjoys assisting QuoteSoft customers and connecting with them making for a very fun and rewarding experience!
Brian Saylor – Team Lead, Product Training
As the annual keynote speaker at the QuoteSoft User Conference for seven years since 2008, Brian Saylor provides unparalleled expertise and knowledge. Brian spent 37 years working as an HVAC, piping, and plumbing estimator, and now serves as a QuoteSoft Product Training Team Lead at ConstructConnect.
Ken Bedrin- Product Training Specialist, QuoteSoft
Ken has worked in the construction and technology industry for 28+ years. His experience ranges from HVAC installations and service, AutoCAD draftsman, surveyor/MEP layout, project manager, and as an instructor for several design and field layout software platforms. He has a passion for teaching and helping others learn new things and reaching their goals. He is always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow professionally.
